In 2012, I wanted to send my clients an original holiday season card. But what to send?? I certainly didn’t want to create something cliché. So I asked myself some questions about the holidays, and settled on something that had to do with receiving gifts.
My goal was for my clients to see the card in their mail and immediately stop and want to look closer. I came up with a very pop oriented colour palette, and since I’m always interested in people and their expressions, I decided on people’s reactions the moment they open their gift.
These are all my friends, carefully chosen by for their personalities and willingness to participate in my project without inhibitions. I think they all did a wonderful job, and proved once again that the best portraits are not necessarily made with professional models. I love working with non-models, whether it’s in a project like this, or with people in the corporate world who need new head-shots.
