Mission asked me to shoot a number of different areas in the city, some hidden in the mountains with others hidden in plain site, particularly rural industrial roads.
After a comprehensive consultation, and a review of the city guidelines they sent me, I plotted everything out on Google maps pre-flight. My next task was to find an experienced pilot who knew the area very well and could be that second set of eyes in the sky to help spot landmarks on the ground.
All this prep work paid off for the client. We minimized our flying time circling for locations and flew over both the city and rural areas without any trouble. For a job I estimated would take 1.5 hours, we shot it in under an hour, and ended up passing those savings on to the client.
Jon was a pleasure to work with. He took the time to understand what we were trying capture with our aerial photography assignment and then added tremendous value through his suggestions on how to best capture the right shots. We were very impressed with the number and quality of the images, which we use regularly to demonstrate local improvement opportunities in tourism, recreation and commercial development.Stacey Crawford - Economic Development Officer District of Mission
